Experience from microbiological practice – Occurrence of fungi and algae on the facade insulated house after remediatin

Kateřina Klánová, Irena Veselá
Occurrence of fungi and algae on facade surfaces with mounted insulation system (ETICS) with rendering was monitored during two years after the remediation the surface apparently originally infested fungi and algae.
The presence of biocide on the facade to prevent the growth of mold and algae occurrence. Mold spores remain viable. Occurrence of mold spores on the surface of the facade insulated house was most affected by fungus spores from the air.

Revitalization of the Industrial Complex

Josef Chybík
Once the industrial south of the Moravian metropolis is currently undergoing a transformation. Under the transformation, the part of the originally industrial Brno is gradually becoming an area offering housing, services and sports. The revitalization of the in the district Komarov also fits in this context. The goal of the revitalization is to implement it effectively, with respect to the protection of the environment and to meet the requirements of the energy saving measures.

Influence of construction design of the wooden wall on the drying of built-in moisture

Eva Vahalová, Martina Miškufová, Eva Šuhajdová, Jindřich Sobotka, Karel Šuhajda
This paper deals with a comparison of the drying potential of increased built-in moisture within the walls of two modern timber houses with different structural composition. Furthermore the outputs deal with the sensitivity of wooden elements to be damaged by increased moisture content and highlight the necessity of using the construction wood with prescribed quality, as well as the need for its protection during the storage, transportation and installation.

Requirements and regulations for handling the thermal-technical assessments

Jan Klečka
In everyday practice and as a project documentation controls specialist in field of construction physics, I encounter the facts that most of the projects do not include in any stage a report of the required evaluation that demonstrate that the requirements of thermal protection of buildings are fulfilled. We then face the impact of the missing evaluation during the implementation, the deficiencies of the project are costly to correct, if detected. Should not the experienced realisation team notice these deficiencies, it is returned as a complaint. To avoid repeating this mistake, we pass on the engineers analyses of the regulations involving the requirements for processing the termal-technical evaluation based on ČSN 73 0540-2.

Vegetation layers of green roofs – design standards, implementaion and maintenance

Samuel Burian, Jitka Dostalová, Martin Dubský, Petr Halama, Karel Chaloupka, Jiří Komzák, Roman Paťava, Marie Straková, František Šrámek, Petr Vacek, Josef Vokál
This document addresses the issue of green roofs.

Solar thermal gains – norms, precondition, reality

Roman Šubrt, Pavlína Charvátová
The article discusses real global sunshine and it is compared with 2 norms that state design values for global sunshine (ČSN 73 0540-3:2005 [1] and TNI 73 0331:2013 [2]). It shows the values also in a context with an average temperatures over the period. On a particular example of a house it shows possible potential impact on a real energy performance of a building. Hence the article points out the energy assessment done for the buildings according to the real values of power supplied (ie. evaluation of grant subsidies for the energy savings), it is important to focus on an average temperatures during the heating period, but also on the global sunshine.

Elimination of structural thermal bridges – FOAMGLAS® PERINSUL blocks

Jan Vychytil
The contact of walls with foundations creates massive thermal bridges. To eliminate these bridges is very important, but technically complicated. Using the FOAMGLAS® PERINSUL blocks in the bottom of the wall it is possible to eliminate the bridges effectively and reliably.

Mechanical fastening of thermal insulations in ETICS

Jan Dvořák
Standard CSN 73 2902:2011 [1] is already in force for six years. This standard shortly after its release was followed calculator for determining the number of anchors with the simplified design that gave Cech pro zateplování budov (CZB).

International Student Competition Multi-convenient House, Belarus, Brest – Krasny Dvor 2016

Josef Smola
Description of this time 12th annual unique student international competition, focused on a quality living in a passive standard. Competition experiences, structures and conditions are being presented.
The assignment represented brownfield revitalisation on the site of former military quarters in famous Belarussian border town Brest, in a perspective of an urban concept, architectural design, to construction and design details, which are validated by construction physics calculations.
